We ran this event for the first time last year, and it was so successful that we have decided to run it again this year - but on a Saturday, so that more people can come.
Come and discover the stories behind Deeside’s rocks and landscapes. A short introductory presentation will be followed by a minibus excursion to a number of localities in Upper Deeside where we can get a close look at the area’s geological foundations and the landscape features that time has carved out of them.
No prior geological knowledge will be assumed and the day will be an informal and flexible one to take account of the weather and participants' inclinations.
None of the planned visits will involve steep gradients or more than thirty to forty minutes of walking; most will involve easy short walks of less than ten minutes.
