Requirements for Events

Participants will be given detailed equipment requirements for individual events on confirmation of booking. Any personal requirements regarding health issues etc must be made known to event leaders prior to commencement.

Event Information

The Events Diary contains a link to the detailed description of each event, which includes details of the start time, the meeting point, the likely duration of the activity, and cost.

The Walks

Each of the walks has been graded EASY easy / MODERATE  moderate / STRENUOUS strenuous . The information on each walk also indicates the distance involved, the approximate height to be gained, and the likely duration of the walk.  For the strenuous walks, it is important that all participants are properly equipped and have a good level of fitness – see the fact sheet.

Safety Notice for Water Based Activities

Participants need to be able to swim or be water confident whilst wearing a buoyancy aid. Bring bathers or a complete change of clothes and a large towel for canoeing and water skiing, wake boarding and sub aqua.

Reservations are made upon receipt of payment by post (cheque payable to Active Aboyne) or in person to the Mid Deeside Office:

If more than one session is offered please make a note of your preferred session but please be aware that bookings are on a first come first served basis.

If an event is not well subscribed to, it may be cancelled and you will be notified and refunded.

Not all events offer reduced prices for under 18’s: please consult the web site for details.

Cancellation by Participants:

Where a participant has to cancel, any refund will be at the discretion of the organisers.  Where a refund is made, there will be a small deduction for the administrative costs involved.
