About Us

ActiveAboyne was established to promote activity tourism in Royal Deeside and the Eastern Cairngorms and to introduce outdoor activities to young and old in Deeside and surrounding areas.

We are a project of Mid Deeside Ltd and funded and supported by various bodies including Cairngorms National Parks Authority, Marr Area Partnership, Aberdeenshire Council Ranger Service, Glen Tanar Ranger Service, Balmoral Ranger Service, Scottish Natural Heritage Ranger Service and Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms (the Destination Management Organisation responsible for marketing the Deeside area).

We would not exist without the support of an able and active group of volunteers, local estates and local activity providers and a number of photographers who have generously allowed us to use their images, including Hilltrek Outdoor Clothing, Torcuill Torrance, Louise Murray, Tony Jenkinson, Peter Craig, Helen Rowe, David Coleman, Alan Melrose, Mike Martin, Viv Halcrow and Catriona Reid.
