| History Walk In
Glen Muick - Explore the History of the Glen The wild expanse of Loch Muick, almost totally encircled by steep mountains, is surprisingly accessible. Located on the royal estate of Balmoral, under the shadow of Lochnagar, its surrounds are home to many types of wildlife, including red grouse and herds of red deer. This walk will be in two parts. Firstly we will walk a circuit of Loch Muick. The walk will take us close to the Glas-allt Shiel and Allt-na-giubhsaich lodges where Queen Victoria spent a great deal of time. Later in the day we will travel further back in time and visit the Spittal of Glen Muick Township where we can learn how the residents of these Glens lived over two hundred years ago. |
